This is dedicated not only to those drawings and scketches I make when I should be studying, but to those I've made out of pictures or other artists' drawings. You can find from planes to dragon in here. I make portraits of my favourite characters too either because I like them or because I find them interesting to draw. Check them out. (Numbers mean the time of the movie where I took the image from)

Making of Mrs Brisby
Doing this with acrylic was quite fun, from drawing the design in a piece of paper, to painting the layers, doing shadows, lines and the thorns to decorate around it. Loved it!

Learning to use Gimp
Guess who's learning to use Gimp
I still have a lot to work on this cat lady, but I wanted to show it here since it's been a while since I last posted anything. I did it this afternoon on my first attempt to use this program... so I'm pretty hapy with the result so far

Found old drawing... what was I thinking?
Unfinished drawing of what appears to be a girl training and trying to look like a Chun-Li rip off. You can guess I didn't finish this one... Although I have no idea where I was going with her clothes, I like the "unique" design... and the legs are looking good.

The Last Battle of a Warrior Angel
Unfinished drawing of an angel warrior in her last stand. She was supposed to be missing one of her wings and be holding two big swords while standing on a pile of corpses. Whenever I find a drawing too old for me to be able to finish it properly, either because I no longer have the spirit or it isn't my style anymore, I try to come up with the date, but I don't even bother to sign it.
In this case I can even see my flaws: her head is too big for her body, some wounds aren't drawn properly, I wasn't sure about the design of her clothes... etc; but I like the design, the wings were coming up pretty decent, I think I was trying to make her look Japanese (not sure)...
The thing is that I really believe that if this was meant to be a good drawing, I would have finished.
Still, I hope you like the idea.

Sketch of Danielle
5/31/12 12:23 PM
Instead of studying for "Industrial Heating and Cooling" I was drawing her. She is not finish yet, but I wanted to post her because I'm about to erase some of the things I had to draw to make her, and I kind of like the look she has now.6/2/12 1:10 AM
Just thinking why not to put her again before she's finish. I fixed her right shoulder a little.
6/14/12 10:46 PM
Ok. I didn't like how the hands were looking, so I fixed one and I erased the other one. She's almost finished. I just need to draw the hand and fix some little details and she'll be done.
NOW:
As you can see it took me a lot to finish her. I guess it was because I knew all the hard work was already done and also because I was scared to mess up the drawing by making a weird-looking hand or something. I'm quite proud of this drawing because of the perspective, the hair and the clothes. The arms look pretty nice, but the shoulders and neck are unrealistic, and, as always, the head is too big for her body. This time it's not too much, but still I think the proportions are not too well-done. This represents a scene from the book I'm always talkign about and I'll never write.

KARA- finished
And finally she's finished. I had troubles with the scanner. Enough troubles for not being too happy with the result (have you notice a side is lighter than the other?). I love this drawing because of the neck, mouth and the face itself. The eyelashes were hard, and so were the eyes because she had them in a way that looked unnatural in paper.

Rihanna
6/18/12 12:48
I'm not a real fan of her music, though she has some songs I really enjoy listening to, but I think she's pretty. Definitely worth drawing her because of the kind of beauty she posses. I don't know how to explain it. Anyhow, I'm trying something new, more contrast. Let's see how it looks once it's finished.NOW:
It doesn't quite look like her. I'm afraid maybe the shadow of the mouth changed her expression so she doesn't look as much as Rihanna as she did in the previous drawing. Anyhow, I like the look of the contrast. Man! I'm too lazy. I should draw more often. Oh! Yeah! That's right! I don't have the time to do so. Well, hopefully I'll finish her in a couple of months, ok? (Yes, months, I've got other projects in mind as well. Sorry)

Making Gotye
I came to know this "Somebody I Used to Know" thanks to the awesome cover performed by "Walk off the Earth", and I loved it almost immediately. Every time I listen to it I feel inspire. It's such a powerful song! It describes emotions so good. And Gotye's eyes are beautiful, actually it's the way he looks at the camera: so sad, so much emotion into it... So I had to draw him singing this song because I'm addicted to that YouTube video.

Annika
And this is what happens when I'm in weird moods. Angels and fantasy worlds get eaten by darkness. Sci-fi movies and films are my favourites. She's been stock for quite a while actually, but I might finish her when I get back to the mood I was when I first drew her (kind of difficult, but I just need to remember what I was thinking). She's got quite a story ahead, and other that explains her actual condition stuck with so many cables going through her brain...
If you are wondering, the 25 is because I did her while studying for "Fluids Mechanics" and I like to number the pages I've covered studying. I didn't realice I was using a numbered sheet until the drawing was too advanced for me to do it in another page.

Star Trek: The Next Generation - Hugh (Jonathan Del Arco)
I said Seven of Nine was not my favourtie borg. That's because Hugh is the first borg that came out of the collective (besides Picard, of course). I'll post the drawing once it's finished.

Pan's Labyrinth - Pan (Doug Jones)
I love "El laberinto del Fauno". It's one of my favourites, so I made myself a bag with the pan on it. It was my first attend on material, so you can see how I got better the more I painted. Hope you like it.

Drawing Dustfinger
I should do this more often. I took pictures of the drawing as it was getting better because I like Dustfinger so much I thought it might be cool see how the pencil was creating him.
