Harley Quinn & the Joker - Rough games

Well, good evening! I'm in a wonderful mood as this is one of the most ambitious drawings I've done in a while, mixing media I thought I'd never use in paper, like acrylics... I was always afraid normal paper wouldn't stand it. It turns out I was wrong and it looks awesome!!!
On the top you can see a re-touched version, while the one on the left is a picture of the original drawing (I seriously need to by a scanner).

I wanted the pencil lines to remain so that's why I haven't painted over them. Also mixing media and styles was pretty fun ^^

Anyhow, I went to the cinema to watch "Suicide Squad" and I liked the soundtrack and Harley, of course, so on Friday afternoon I was listening to it when "Criminal" from Britney Spears came in... and this image came to my mind. So I sketched in the course of three or four repetitions of the song and decided I wanted to make something awesome with it... So I got crazy and coloured it, which you might know by now it isn't something I normally do.
I wanted Harley to look scared, but at the same time have a slight smile that she's almost forcing upon herself to show Joker she trusts him, whilst I wanted the Joker to have a sadistic look. The perspective was hard and not sure of it as I would have rather have the Joker to be slightly bigger that he came up to be, but I'm still pretty Ok with him.
I honestly hate the relationship of these two characters being romanticized, so she's got some cuts and bruises, not too many though as I didn't want to be gruesome, just enough to show he doesn't treat her nicely, and he should as she is slightly afraid of whether he'll hurt her with the knife or not.
Hher body and shadows were pretty fun to do, specially hands and feet are things I?m really happy with. I should point out that all of this came out of my head without needing any reference image... which made me pretty proud.
I enjoyed designing a new outfit for her as well.
I might do more of this in the future.
For the time being I hope you guys like it!! =)

Heroes VI - Juggernaut

Last one of this series. I had lots of fun with the muscles, which brings me to probably try and do more anatomy studies of muscle and tendons.
I'm quite pleased with the feet and the horns.

Heroes VI - Lacerator

I didn't enjoy this one too much. The spikes were a little bit of a pain, but the tendons and muscles once again were lots of fun, as the shadows, although they were quite hard to tell from the concept art. Cool-looking creature, but not my favourite at all.

Heroes VI - Succubus

I am nto happy with her body, but I enjoyed the hair a lot... I like drawing hair. The wings, which normally are lots of fun, are alright, but nothing too spectacular. I changed the face to make her look a little bit more intimidating. She also belongs to the Hell race.

Heroes VI - Maniac

Quick movements. I didn't want to spend too much time in the chains. The muscles were incredibly fun to draw. This creature is from the Hell race.
It's like a slim demon figure

Banshee - "Starcraft II"

I know this is more of a helicopter... plane-ish, aircraft machine, but I included it in the starships category because Starcraft doesn't always make it particularly easy to tell when you're in space and when on a place with atmosphere. I've always wanted to draw this, since I frist saw it. It looks amazing and it was a blast to draw it. This time my approach wasn't to make it neat, but the opposite. I went with dirty lines, played around with the pen as much as I could... and I love the end result, specially taking into account this drawing is based on a papercraft model someone posted on the internet and not a picture of the computer design.
I absolutely love this aircraft.

Turian Cruiser - "Mass Effect"

I started playing Mass Effect like a year ago, but I had to quit because I had to work on my final degree project. The first and second game were given to me by one of my best friends as a present, and a lot of people has told me I should play them because they're awesome. So I'll go back to them soon.
In the meanwhile, this is the ship a friend who asked me for the drawing of a ship for his room picked... I guess because he really likes Mass Effect.
For this I tried to take advantages of the dark shadows and use the straight lines to give that geometrical look. It's quite an interesting-looking ship. So when I first saw it I had to draw it. My friend seemed to like it a lot when I gave it to him.

Andromeda Ascendant - "Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda"

I tried watching this show, but it was too corny for me. I don't know the whole set was pretty lame and I couldn't see past the first few episodes because I couldn't take it knowing it was supposed to come from the same person who had created Star Trek, although Roddenberry was long dead when this show came out. So I guess maybe he was the one missing from the spirit of this show. I don't know. The ship looked pretty awesome though. So I decided to give it a try, although I have to admit half the time I was just drawing lines and shadows not really knowing what I was doing.

Cylon Ship - "Battlestar Galactica"

I remember watching the first season of this show without the tv movie that comes before it. It was incredibly confusing, but it looked interesting. At the time I had no means to watch the rest of the seasons, or the pilot for that matter, and forgot about it. Now that I had the change I decided to try drawing this cool-looking ships, and it was a blast. I tried to use the same approach as with planes and try to make it look neat.

A Pin-up for Chris

First, allow me to say I'm against the stereotyping of Latina/Spanish women. This is meant to be a woman surrounded by the things I was expecting to find in the birthday party I was going to.
The birthday party was Latino-themed... and since it was a guy, I thought he might enjoy this drawing, specially because since I didn't know him too well I thought at least he would find it nice. He liked it quite a lot, like some other guests as well.
This is based on a pin-up you can find easily in google, but I decided to make her more attractive, add the tequila bottle and make her hair much more fun. I just wanted s "Latino-themed" pin-up, and I think I pretty much got her right.
I'm quite happy with the final result... and she looks so beautiful and menacing. I like it.

Blanche's return (SortilĆØges. Livre 2 - Dufaux & Munuera)

Based on the illustration made by José Luis Munuera in the second book of "Sortilèges" ("Sortilegios" en español). The first appearance of Blanche after the rumors of her death. I liked the badassness of that scene, but I wanted to do my own version of it... an adaptation of Blanche's drawing.
I tried to put more detail in the hair, the face is different, but captures her anger (although the head came out at the end too big for her body), there're more blood stains and I drew some wounds on her (cuts and bruises)... because she seemed to be too "clean" for my taste since she just came back from a battle.
The shadows and blood are made with ball pen, the lines with liquid pen, and I "painted" the leader with pencil to make it look darker.
I hope you like it... and please give it a chance to this comic book... it's pretty neat and fun to read.

Spiderman

Oh! My Goodness! This one is so old. I made it when I was in High School for my little cousin's birthday

A Pin-up for Vidal

So a friend of mine had a birthday a month ago and I didn't finish this until now. I hope he likes it though.
I based it on a picture I found on the Internet, but I changed the sofa's shape and colour, the position of her hand and also her boobs and body complexion. I hop enjoy what might be my last pin-up in a while because I think I'm finished with these girls

Roses for Cristina

Again roses. I know, I know, but they are the easiest to draw and almost every girl I know likes roses (not myself though, I like them, but they aren't my favourite ones). This took a while because I was busy, but I like the final look. The roses itself are based on two photos I found on the internet, while the leaves are mine. I hope you like them.

Alice Madness Returns - Revision

Hey, hey, hey! Well, I'm pretty proud of this one, because of the change on perspective (my first attempt), the items I've drawn (I think I've never done a full set before, it was just characters, but never "decoration"), the character design and the proportions pretty much.
I was playing "Alice Madness Returns" while studying, so during my breaks in the library I started to draw this based on the game's character. As you can see there are some similarities, but I tried to make an original design of the dress and also of the things I've drawn surrounding her, that try to represent each of the things you might find in Wonderland.
It was so much fun mixing different media:
Corset's details are done with a blue fountain-pen, while the hair and he eye-browns were done with black pen, the boots, eye-lashes and gloves are done with a black Chinese gel-pen (not that the origin matters, but I found it on the floor one day and it's got Chinese writing on it, so I found it interesting), red and blue details with JANUS 2160 Faber-Castell, and all the other colours with mechanical pencil (with colour mines), and the shadows were all done with either 2B or 3B pencil.

Roses for Maite

Yes, once again roses. When I want to do something for a woman and I don't know her too much  or I don't really know what she would like (or I don't care enough to try to find out), then I draw her flowers. So here is the answer to the fact that this blog is getting pretty full with roses, because they are the best for me in relation time/final look (my favourite flowers are carnations, but they take longer to draw and people usually like roses better). I love the look of the two colour rose, a shame the picture didn't catch it too well (the drawing looks better than this, I swear). I hope you enjoy it.

Beer for Cris, Vidal and Iago

So we did a "piƱata" with the shape of a beer for three friends whose birthday party was this last weekend. This is the detail of the "glass" label, that I drew with pencil and coloured with a marker, while a friend of mine passed with a black pen over the pencil lines.

We also made cards with different beer logos for a memory card game. I did the drawing by pencil and a friend of mine coloured it with markers

This is to show how crazy we got in these last Birthdays, and I need to thank my friend Angel for helping me with these because he saved me quite a lot of time colouring them for me

Black Rock Shooter

So, this is a drawing I made of Black Rock Shooter, but I didn't copy any existent drawing, so that's why it's labelled as "Original Drawing" and "Out of other drawings". I watch the OVA and the series this week, and I've fallen in love with this character. I don't know why, but it's got a lot of power, and so does the song it inspired. So that's why I had to draw her.
This drawing is awful, I know. I don't do manga. So this is a mixture of styles, and you can see where my flaws are: the hair, specially the ponytail to the right, the face, and the foot to the left. So, basically, I didn't fake good enough the manga style and the perspective sucks. Funny thing is that it wasn't meant to be an elaborated drawing, and that's why I post it: because it turned out better than I expected. A proof of how little faith I had on it is the fact that it was made at the back of some notes from last semester. You can still see what's written on the other side of the sheet.
Anyhow, this is what came to my mind while listening to the song and watching the images. So I hope you appreciate that it was just an experiment, although I might try to make an adaptation to my style of Black Rock Shooter. I don't know, I'm a little obsessed with the character now.

F-16

In the webside just said something about a nice poster. So I only know it's a F-16 because of the tail and engine configuration, plus the body gave me the idea that it was of the F series (It actually looks like I know what I'm talking about, right? Sometimes I even fool myself). Anyhow, I did this a couple of months ago, but waited a long time to scan it and put it here because I was lazy. It ain't my best plane drawing, but I'm ok with it since I did it in an afternoon in the middle of my finals.

A Pin-up for Richi

Yes, today is "Pin-up's day". This friend absolutely needed this drawing for sure. He's kind of a lady's man, you know. So it's kind of an inside joke. I didn't like much this model, but she was the second best I could find. So here it is. I'm pretty happy with the whatever that blue thing might be, and the pillow; the hair is pretty neat too, but I don't like it and neither her face. I'm pretty ok with the legs though.
Anyhow, hopefully I won't be making more of these in a long time because I kind of had it with the pin-ups, though they are nice to draw... sometimes
