Harley Quinn & the Joker - Rough games

Well, good evening! I'm in a wonderful mood as this is one of the most ambitious drawings I've done in a while, mixing media I thought I'd never use in paper, like acrylics... I was always afraid normal paper wouldn't stand it. It turns out I was wrong and it looks awesome!!!
On the top you can see a re-touched version, while the one on the left is a picture of the original drawing (I seriously need to by a scanner).

I wanted the pencil lines to remain so that's why I haven't painted over them. Also mixing media and styles was pretty fun ^^

Anyhow, I went to the cinema to watch "Suicide Squad" and I liked the soundtrack and Harley, of course, so on Friday afternoon I was listening to it when "Criminal" from Britney Spears came in... and this image came to my mind. So I sketched in the course of three or four repetitions of the song and decided I wanted to make something awesome with it... So I got crazy and coloured it, which you might know by now it isn't something I normally do.
I wanted Harley to look scared, but at the same time have a slight smile that she's almost forcing upon herself to show Joker she trusts him, whilst I wanted the Joker to have a sadistic look. The perspective was hard and not sure of it as I would have rather have the Joker to be slightly bigger that he came up to be, but I'm still pretty Ok with him.
I honestly hate the relationship of these two characters being romanticized, so she's got some cuts and bruises, not too many though as I didn't want to be gruesome, just enough to show he doesn't treat her nicely, and he should as she is slightly afraid of whether he'll hurt her with the knife or not.
Hher body and shadows were pretty fun to do, specially hands and feet are things I?m really happy with. I should point out that all of this came out of my head without needing any reference image... which made me pretty proud.
I enjoyed designing a new outfit for her as well.
I might do more of this in the future.
For the time being I hope you guys like it!! =)

Making of Mrs Brisby

Doing this with acrylic was quite fun, from drawing the design in a piece of paper, to painting the layers, doing shadows, lines and the thorns to decorate around it. Loved it!

The Secret of NIMH - Mrs Brisby

Mother´s day was yesterday. Mrs. Brisby from "The Secret of NIMH" represents motherhood at its finest, and it's one of my mother's old time favorite movies. Together with the fact that my nickname is "Rat" at home, this made the perfect gift for this day. She liked it a lot and I myself am pretty pleased with how it turned out.
I did some green "thorns" around the edges of the box to decorate it a little bit.
Using acrylic is awesome, giving you quite vivid colors to play with. I'm glad I decided to make this.

Jigsaw Doll - "SAW"

I worked on this guy for a week and a half or so for a friend's Halloween party. The idea being to put it on the entrance to greet people and help people to get into the mood for the party.
I' like to take a moment to say that although I gave the idea for this and volunteered to do it, I absolutely hate this doll. I find the movies boring and discussing, and therefore this doll, being a symbol of the saga, is something I had little fun doing. Why did I make it? Because I thought I could make it cool and it would help decorate this friend's house, a friend that was taking great care in making everyone have an awesome time at his house for not reason other than make people happy. I wanted to help as much as possible to such noble goal, and I did more stuff, but I cannot post it here because it would include pictures of his house.

I'll post later a small tutorial of how I did this doll. However, let me tell you I think it could have been done much better. I had little time and as I said I hated this doll since the beginning.

Pan's Labyrinth - Pan (Doug Jones)

I love "El laberinto del Fauno". It's one of my favourites, so I made myself a bag with the pan on it. It was my first attend on material, so you can see how I got better the more I painted. Hope you like it.
