A friend of mine is a massive Barcelona fan and loves Eva Mendes. So for his birthday what better present than a drawing of Eva Mendez wearing the colors of his favorite team? =P
I had to do this drawing in an hour, hence why it isn't one of my best ones, but he loved it and I'm very pleased with that.
She looks close enough to the actress and the proportions are good, although for some reason people kept asking me if it was me... I feel flattered, but she doesn't look anything like me... anyhow, this woman was tons of fun to draw even though I couldn't spend as much time as I could have liked.
The most importat part: he liked the present =)
This is dedicated not only to those drawings and scketches I make when I should be studying, but to those I've made out of pictures or other artists' drawings. You can find from planes to dragon in here. I make portraits of my favourite characters too either because I like them or because I find them interesting to draw. Check them out. (Numbers mean the time of the movie where I took the image from)

Color Study: Green Eyes
Here it's a small study of three different sets of green eyes. Marvelous combinations of green, blue, brown and yellow make them so unique.
The people I used as models were:
Sharbat Gula (National Geographic Magazine’s cover)
Jensen Ackles (Known from “Supernatural”)
Angelina Jolie (First known by me when I saw her in “Lara Croft”)
I'd like to do something like this for other eye colors, but we'll see

American Horror Story - Young Moira O'Hara (Alexandra Breckenridge)
I've always been in love with this character, ever since I knew her whoe story, and before that I was in love with this young version of herself. Actually, the first time I saw young Moira, I couldn't help but say "She's so beautiful!!". So I've always wanted to draw her and I finally came around to do it. Although I know it doesn't look wuite as herself, she actually looks older. I think that's due to the fact that I tried a new technik, doing the shadow of her face with H2 instead of B2. I ended up doing too much shadowing making her look older, plus the eyes aren't quite right.
I hope you like it still and the effects on the hair. I loved playing with the red pencil =)

Old Self-Portrait
I did this in Art Class when I was 16 (2008) and I was quite proud of it. My parents never expressed as much emotion as my art teacher, so I kind of forgot about it for a long time and became a shame because for a long time I thought it wasn't as good as I believed, but my mother sent me this pictures, so I'm guessing she now likes it, and it has become a reason for being proud again.
I had never used chalk before, so that was a challenge that you can see I had to fight through this piece, starting with the bottom and finishing with the face, that doesn't look at all like me, but I think it's quite ok.
I don't like the face, but I love the hands and the top of the shirt, and I'm pretty happy with the hair.

Sad thing is that I don't think I've gotten much better since this because this is the first and only chalk piece I've ever done, and I feel like if I wanted to do another, I'd have to start from the beginning again.

"Marilyn Monroe" for Victor
So again a birthday present for a friend. This time I took two Marilyn Monroe's pictures she had taken for "The Seven Year Itch" and combined them while putting a touch of my own. Both the faces and the upper section of the dress have been modified because I wasn't happy with the originals. Also the middle part of the dress is only "based on" the original photos, while I made the dress come a little higher than in any of the originals. Anyhow, I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed drawing this woman.

Stracraft II - Jim Raynor
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the most challenging drawing by pencil I've done in my life so far. The funny thing is that the reason behind it being so complicated is the fact that it might be the most realistic portrait I've done so far with the sweat and specially all the wrinkles It's funny because it's not even a real person o r a picture, but it's a pencil drawing of a computer drawing. Although if you thing about it, this is Jim Raynor plain an simple, while actors and such have always make up to cover the imperfections and their pictures might even have been through a little photoshopping. Actually, I think this is the first time I draw wrinkles and my second attempt to draw beard. By the way, I went a little bit crazy on the hair and it isn't like on the original because for some reason if I didn't do a little on my own it looked fake.
He's Jim Raynor, one of my friend's favourite character from "Starcraft". So I made this drawing for him on his birthday and I wanted to be very accurate because this is one of my best friends right now. I hope you like it because, guys, I'm soooo proud of this one you can't even imagine. I wanted to draw it for so long, and I finally got the excuse.
By the way, notice that the hardest drawing is still the Apollo V, that was made by pen, and the hardest art project is, and probably will always be because of its complexity and time I had to spare on it, the Pan from "Pan's Labyrinth" made by acrylics.
Made with: H2 (sketch), HB and Mechanical Pencil (details on helmet), B2 (shadows on helmet and face, features, sweat, any type of hair...), B3 (eyes, little touches on the eye-browns), B5 (thick shadows inside helmet), and Janus 2160 (hologram and blue details).

A Portrait of a Good Friend
Marta is a friend I made in Germany. Though we come from the same city, which is not too big, I had never met her until I started my ERASMUS year. I think she's very pretty: with dark brown eyes, weird-shaped nose and her beautiful dark hair. She isn't my best friend, but she's a good friend, so I wanted to make something special on her birthday (plus, I really wanted to draw her because she's really cute). I thought this drawing will please her, and it did. Now I'm sharing it with you, guys, because it's one of the best drawings I've made so far. Specially I'm really proud of the hood, that took me like 15min just to figure out how to start drawing the "hairs" of it.

KARA- finished
And finally she's finished. I had troubles with the scanner. Enough troubles for not being too happy with the result (have you notice a side is lighter than the other?). I love this drawing because of the neck, mouth and the face itself. The eyelashes were hard, and so were the eyes because she had them in a way that looked unnatural in paper.

Rihanna
6/18/12 12:48
I'm not a real fan of her music, though she has some songs I really enjoy listening to, but I think she's pretty. Definitely worth drawing her because of the kind of beauty she posses. I don't know how to explain it. Anyhow, I'm trying something new, more contrast. Let's see how it looks once it's finished.NOW:
It doesn't quite look like her. I'm afraid maybe the shadow of the mouth changed her expression so she doesn't look as much as Rihanna as she did in the previous drawing. Anyhow, I like the look of the contrast. Man! I'm too lazy. I should draw more often. Oh! Yeah! That's right! I don't have the time to do so. Well, hopefully I'll finish her in a couple of months, ok? (Yes, months, I've got other projects in mind as well. Sorry)

Life Portrait of Gabriel
These last few days I was in Salamanca with a friend, whose portrait you have here. Gabriel was kind enough to stay still for almost an hour reading and writing while I was doing this drawing. So here it is that she has become the first life portrait I've done (besides a self portrait I once had to do for an art class with mirror). I'm not quite happy with the nose because I think she moved a little while making the shadows, but I love the hair, even though it was quite difficult to do because both the shirt and hair were black and the place where we were didn't have good light. The body looks a little weird, but I decided to leave it as it is because I was taking a little too long to finish it. I want to thank my model, whose signature is on the left side of this picture, for her patient and the wonderful time I had.

Gotye - Somebody that I Used to Know
Now I realice that his eyes are what I find the most fascinating of him. That's why I painted them green and left the rest of the drawing as it was.

Making Gotye
I came to know this "Somebody I Used to Know" thanks to the awesome cover performed by "Walk off the Earth", and I loved it almost immediately. Every time I listen to it I feel inspire. It's such a powerful song! It describes emotions so good. And Gotye's eyes are beautiful, actually it's the way he looks at the camera: so sad, so much emotion into it... So I had to draw him singing this song because I'm addicted to that YouTube video.

Hellboy II - Princess Nuala (Anna Walton)
I think this actress is much beautiful with this make up that in real life. Here she looks so pretty. I really love the princess as well as her brother. I actually love this movie.
Hellboy II - Prince Nuada (Luke Goss)
I absolutely love this character, and his accent, and how he moves. I was in love the whole movie. So I had to draw him

Star Trek: The Next Generation - Hugh (Jonathan Del Arco)
I said Seven of Nine was not my favourtie borg. That's because Hugh is the first borg that came out of the collective (besides Picard, of course). I'll post the drawing once it's finished.
