Crazy Sketch

I was bored in class today, so I did this in an hour of presentation. Yes, it's a demon eating pop corn and a weird guy with a katana giving her a drink

The Last Battle of a Warrior Angel

Unfinished drawing of an angel warrior in her last stand. She was supposed to be missing one of her wings and be holding two big swords while standing on a pile of corpses. Whenever I find a drawing too old for me to be able to finish it properly, either because I no longer have the spirit or it isn't my style anymore, I try to come up with the date, but I don't even bother to sign it.
In this case I can even see my flaws: her head is too big for her body, some wounds aren't drawn properly, I wasn't sure about the design of her clothes... etc; but I like the design, the wings were coming up pretty decent, I think I was trying to make her look Japanese (not sure)...
The thing is that I really believe that if this was meant to be a good drawing, I would have finished.
Still, I hope you like the idea.

Spiderman

Oh! My Goodness! This one is so old. I made it when I was in High School for my little cousin's birthday

American Horror Story - Young Moira O'Hara (Alexandra Breckenridge)

I've always been in love with this character, ever since I knew her whoe story, and before that I was in love with this young version of herself. Actually, the first time I saw young Moira, I couldn't help but say "She's so beautiful!!". So I've always wanted to draw her and I finally came around to do it. Although I know it doesn't look wuite as herself, she actually looks older. I think that's due to the fact that I tried a new technik, doing the shadow of her face with H2 instead of B2. I ended up doing too much shadowing making her look older, plus the eyes aren't quite right.
I hope you like it still and the effects on the hair. I loved playing with the red pencil =)

A Pin-up for Vidal

So a friend of mine had a birthday a month ago and I didn't finish this until now. I hope he likes it though.
I based it on a picture I found on the Internet, but I changed the sofa's shape and colour, the position of her hand and also her boobs and body complexion. I hop enjoy what might be my last pin-up in a while because I think I'm finished with these girls

Roses for Cristina

Again roses. I know, I know, but they are the easiest to draw and almost every girl I know likes roses (not myself though, I like them, but they aren't my favourite ones). This took a while because I was busy, but I like the final look. The roses itself are based on two photos I found on the internet, while the leaves are mine. I hope you like them.

A Pin-up for Iago

So a friend of mine had a birthay like two months ago, but I was too busy to finish this until now. I based it on a small picture I found on the internet of a girl that was standing on thin air. I realised that nothing would show in this position, so I removed all clothes to make it more provocative and different.

Alice Madness Returns - Revision

Hey, hey, hey! Well, I'm pretty proud of this one, because of the change on perspective (my first attempt), the items I've drawn (I think I've never done a full set before, it was just characters, but never "decoration"), the character design and the proportions pretty much.
I was playing "Alice Madness Returns" while studying, so during my breaks in the library I started to draw this based on the game's character. As you can see there are some similarities, but I tried to make an original design of the dress and also of the things I've drawn surrounding her, that try to represent each of the things you might find in Wonderland.
It was so much fun mixing different media:
Corset's details are done with a blue fountain-pen, while the hair and he eye-browns were done with black pen, the boots, eye-lashes and gloves are done with a black Chinese gel-pen (not that the origin matters, but I found it on the floor one day and it's got Chinese writing on it, so I found it interesting), red and blue details with JANUS 2160 Faber-Castell, and all the other colours with mechanical pencil (with colour mines), and the shadows were all done with either 2B or 3B pencil.

"Stuffed Chicken"

This was one of the Art Projects I had when I was in Hebron High School (2008). I had never sewed more than two pieces of material when I was 5 to make a dress for my doll (yes, I once did that). So this was, as pretty much any kin of art project I did that year, a challenge because I was learning while doing this project. It was based on the food my mother  makes for Christmas and then I adapted it to my abilities and the medium I had (I chose material because I was pretty confident I'd be able to learn how to sew properly).
So basically, we have here a chicken in a wooden table, baby carrots, cut potatoes, little onions, and pieces of bread in a basket. All needed to be of the same material you've chosen to be your medium, so that's why it was also hard to do, specially the damned basket.

Alice Madness Returns - Hysteria

So... a year ago I started playing "Alice Madness Returns" and quit after getting stocked in a part where I was dying every single time. Then I started last weekend to play again because of a friend, who showed interest on the game. I loved the hysteria skin the moment I saw it, although all the skins in this game are pretty neat. Honestly, the whole game appearance is awesome, but it's not exactly the kind of game I like. I think I play it for the story and the graphics actually.
Anyhow, I did this little sketch based on the Hysteria Skin from Alice. I hope you like it. I had a lot of fun with the blood

Old Self-Portrait

I did this in Art Class when I was 16 (2008) and I was quite proud of it. My parents never expressed as much emotion as my art teacher, so I kind of forgot about it for a long time and became a shame because for a long time I thought it wasn't as good as I believed, but my mother sent me this pictures, so I'm guessing she now likes it, and it has become a reason for being proud again.
I had never used chalk before, so that was a challenge that you can see I had to fight through this piece, starting with the bottom and finishing with the face, that doesn't look at all like me, but I think it's quite ok.
I don't like the face, but I love the hands and the top of the shirt, and I'm pretty happy with the hair.

Sad thing is that I don't think I've gotten much better since this because this is the first and only chalk piece I've ever done, and I feel like if I wanted to do another, I'd have to start from the beginning again.

A Pin-up for Pep

So a friend of mine is returning to Spain and his birthday was before I started making this "drawn gifts" to people. So I wanted to give him something for which he would remember me, and here it is. I didn't know what to draw because I've never talked to him too much, but he was part of our little family. So that's the reason why I did by pencil and not pen: it's easier and faster this way, although I still took my time and hope he enjoyed it because I searched for the right one for him, and this model seemed perfect.

The Way I Draw Women

Maybe you've noticed I like to draw sexy girls with few pieces of clothing. Though I'm a big fan of eroticism, I think that the forms in a woman's body are too beautiful to be hidden behind layers of clothing. Actually I told that to a friend and he said I sounded bohemian, but I mean it: female body is beautiful, much more than men's. Also I agree that most of my drawing feature women with a similar body structure, that's something a little bit personal. Although I'm the first one to admit size doesn't define beauty, I've got this beauty canon I try to reproduce in my drawings, and that's why they look like they do, even the ones I take from other drawing because even though I base myself in a picture, I kind of "photoshop" them until I get the look I like.

Roses for Maite

Yes, once again roses. When I want to do something for a woman and I don't know her too much  or I don't really know what she would like (or I don't care enough to try to find out), then I draw her flowers. So here is the answer to the fact that this blog is getting pretty full with roses, because they are the best for me in relation time/final look (my favourite flowers are carnations, but they take longer to draw and people usually like roses better). I love the look of the two colour rose, a shame the picture didn't catch it too well (the drawing looks better than this, I swear). I hope you enjoy it.

"Marilyn Monroe" for Victor

So again a birthday present for a friend. This time I took two Marilyn Monroe's pictures she had taken for "The Seven Year Itch" and combined them while putting a touch of my own. Both the faces and the upper section of the dress have been modified because I wasn't happy with the originals. Also the middle part of the dress is only "based on" the original photos, while I made the dress come a little higher than in any of the originals. Anyhow, I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed drawing this woman.

Beer for Cris, Vidal and Iago

So we did a "piñata" with the shape of a beer for three friends whose birthday party was this last weekend. This is the detail of the "glass" label, that I drew with pencil and coloured with a marker, while a friend of mine passed with a black pen over the pencil lines.

We also made cards with different beer logos for a memory card game. I did the drawing by pencil and a friend of mine coloured it with markers

This is to show how crazy we got in these last Birthdays, and I need to thank my friend Angel for helping me with these because he saved me quite a lot of time colouring them for me

Black Rock Shooter

So, this is a drawing I made of Black Rock Shooter, but I didn't copy any existent drawing, so that's why it's labelled as "Original Drawing" and "Out of other drawings". I watch the OVA and the series this week, and I've fallen in love with this character. I don't know why, but it's got a lot of power, and so does the song it inspired. So that's why I had to draw her.
This drawing is awful, I know. I don't do manga. So this is a mixture of styles, and you can see where my flaws are: the hair, specially the ponytail to the right, the face, and the foot to the left. So, basically, I didn't fake good enough the manga style and the perspective sucks. Funny thing is that it wasn't meant to be an elaborated drawing, and that's why I post it: because it turned out better than I expected. A proof of how little faith I had on it is the fact that it was made at the back of some notes from last semester. You can still see what's written on the other side of the sheet.
Anyhow, this is what came to my mind while listening to the song and watching the images. So I hope you appreciate that it was just an experiment, although I might try to make an adaptation to my style of Black Rock Shooter. I don't know, I'm a little obsessed with the character now.

Stracraft II - Jim Raynor

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the most challenging drawing by pencil I've done in my life so far. The funny thing is that the reason behind it being so complicated is the fact that it might be the most realistic portrait I've done so far with the sweat and specially all the wrinkles  It's funny because it's not even a real person o r a picture, but it's a pencil drawing of a computer drawing. Although if you thing about it, this is Jim Raynor plain an simple, while actors and such have always make up to cover the imperfections and their pictures might even have been through a little photoshopping. Actually, I think this is the first time I draw wrinkles and  my second attempt to draw beard. By the way, I went a little bit crazy on the hair and it isn't like on the original because for some reason if I didn't do a little on my own it looked fake.
He's Jim Raynor, one of my friend's favourite character from "Starcraft". So I made this drawing for him on his birthday and I wanted to be very accurate because this is one of my best friends right now. I hope you like it because, guys, I'm soooo proud of this one you can't even imagine. I wanted to draw it for so long, and I finally got the excuse.
By the way, notice that the hardest drawing is still the Apollo V, that was made by pen, and the hardest art project is, and probably will always be because of its complexity and time I had to spare on it, the Pan from "Pan's Labyrinth" made by acrylics.

Made with: H2 (sketch), HB and Mechanical Pencil (details on helmet), B2 (shadows on helmet and face, features, sweat, any type of hair...), B3 (eyes, little touches on the eye-browns), B5 (thick shadows inside helmet), and Janus 2160 (hologram and blue details).

F-16

In the webside just said something about a nice poster. So I only know it's a F-16 because of the tail and engine configuration, plus the body gave me the idea that it was of the F series (It actually looks like I know what I'm talking about, right? Sometimes I even fool myself). Anyhow, I did this a couple of months ago, but waited a long time to scan it and put it here because I was lazy. It ain't my best plane drawing, but I'm ok with it since I did it in an afternoon in the middle of my finals.

A Pin-up for Richi

Yes, today is "Pin-up's day". This friend absolutely needed this drawing for sure. He's kind of a lady's man, you know. So it's kind of an inside joke. I didn't like much this model, but she was the second best I could find. So here it is. I'm pretty happy with the whatever that blue thing might be, and the pillow; the hair is pretty neat too, but I don't like it and neither her face. I'm pretty ok with the legs though.
Anyhow, hopefully I won't be making more of these in a long time because I kind of had it with the pin-ups, though they are nice to draw... sometimes

A Pin-up for Tomás

Yes, I know: this girls seems familiar to another one I drew for a friend (go to A Pin-up for Jorge). It's the same one, actually. A friend of mine saw the drawing of the pin-up I had made for Jorge¡s birthday and asked if I would draw one for him. I said "sure, I'll show you all the pictures I collected and you choose the one you like the most". Well, he chose this model. I told him since it was the same model I wasn't going to do the same drawing twice, but I would keep my word of making the pin-up he had chosen. So I used the same model, but, as you can see, I did some changes in the clothing and her expression and also in the way I drew her, like this time everything was made with pen and no pencil was used. Anyhow, I hope you like it. I'm pretty proud of this one because I think it's an improvement compared to the one I did for Jorge. I guess because this time I allowed myself to go a little wild in some points and I also had more time to do it.

Saturn V (Apollo XI) for Kit (in pieces)

Saturn V (Apollo XI) for Kit

Never, ever again I'm doing this crap. It took me more than I expected to complete this replica of the Apollo V rocket that took mankind for the first time to the moon, and I'm so done with it. It took to much time, although he liked it a lot. I guess that was a reward.

Here it's the finished look when I put together all the pieces with all the characteristics and all parts labelled. Of course I took this information out of a poster that I found in the Internet. Before I started this drawing I had no idea about any of these things. Well, actually, a funny thing to say is that I did knew most of the technical words because of "Star Trek"

The Eternal Lover ("Favole: Stone Tears" - Victoria Francés)

The original is not mine. I drew this from a trilogy called "Favole" written and illustrated by the Spanish artist Victoria Francés (The original can be found in page 22 of the first book).
The title for this drawing comes from a story my mother made up for her. Actually I had forgotten about that story until I found this drawing.
I like the leaves and the hair, but I don't like neither the clothing, nor the wings (they were that small in the original as well) and I'm not quite convinced about the face

Car - Lamborghini Veneno for Luis

I have this friend who loves cars. It's been said several times by another friend to describe him that "He looks more a car than a woman", and I agree with that statement. So this is what I did for his birthday. I think this car looks really weird and is ridiculous expensive, but I know he loved this car when he saw it in the news. Therefore I draw it for him in his birthday. I hope you like it, and I swear the colours in the picture were as you see it here. So I don't know exactly what colour this car is for real because it had black, blue and red in some parts of the bodywork.

A Portrait of a Good Friend

Marta is a friend I made in Germany. Though we come from the same city, which is not too big, I had never met her until I started my ERASMUS year. I think she's very pretty: with dark brown eyes, weird-shaped nose and her beautiful dark hair. She isn't my best friend, but she's a good friend, so I wanted to make something special on her birthday (plus, I really wanted to draw her because she's really cute). I thought this drawing will please her, and it did. Now I'm sharing it with you, guys, because it's one of the best drawings I've made so far. Specially I'm really proud of the hood, that took me like 15min just to figure out how to start drawing the "hairs" of it.

Roses for Andreea

Yes, my friends, flowers again. A girl-friend of mine had his birthday a month ago and I did this for her because, you know, flowers are easy to draw and usually girls love them (plus I had already drawn for her a plane because she had asked me to, so it isn't like I had to do anything actually). I don't know if you can actually tell because I had to make some "arrangements" to the photo I took of the drawing (or it was impossible to see it properly), but the two roses aren't the same red.

The Muse that whispers in my ear

Might look a little bit creepy, but this was originally going to be a gift for a Muse I once had..., but at the end I just didn't think he would like it. So here it is.
There're a lot of things wrong with this drawing, but I still like the legs, perspective, face and hair of the girl, ... perhaps even the figure of the ghost is OK.

A Pin-up for Jorge

Hey, guys! I did this for a friend on his birthday because I knew he would appreciate her. I told him he had to put her on the wall, though. Making shadows on the skin was hard. Also this was the first time I attended to make a drawing of a person on pen, and that was tough too. the sofa looks too simple, but it's because I run out of time to finish it properly. I'm pretty proud of the face and all the clothes in black she's wearing. You can look the original on the Internet and compare, but I think I like  more the expression I drew on her face that the one the original had.

A Rose for Victoria

Today, guys, I feel like a Goddess!! Look at this. All made by pen (something I've never done before, at least not in colour). At the beginning I made the drawing and shadows with black pen, but a friend of mine saw it and said: "can't you add colour to it? Like with a red pen make so some of the petals here in the bottom are a little red? Here you can borrow my red pen for the rose and this green one for the leaves". So I thought "challenge accepted!". I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out, but I'd like the idea of trying something new and different. So here it is. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did making it. Man! I feel so proud. The leaves aren't the best and the bow I made it too fast, but the rose itself is pretty awesome. Also I try to make the little flowers violet with blue and red pen, but I think it didn't turn out too good. Oh! Well, it's hard to find a violet Bic pen.

P.D. Today I figured out how the scanning machine in the "Bibliothek" works. So from now on I'll try to make better scans. This one I had to scan it as a PDF document, then "display it in the screen", make "Impr pant" and copy it to paint, and finally uploaded it here. Hopefully from now on I'll be able to scan it with better definition and also in a compatible format.
P.P.D. Hey! Apparently I've been writing "Geburtstag" (Birthday in German) wrong all this time. I've just found out, which was pretty sad. It's not my fault actually, I have a  huge "postcard" my friends made for me in my birthday and somebody spelt it wrong, and I was using that to write my "best wishes cards". Well, I hope my friends like the drawing anyhow.

Raptor F-22

A friend of mine who is going to be an aeronautical engineer asked me for this drawing. I had several troubles with the shadows because I took as model a picture of a real plane flying, and that made it pretty hard to do a black and white drawing with pen

Lilies for Virginia

It turned out it was another friend's birthday as well this week. So, even though I don't know her at all that much, I did this for her so she would at least have a present from us because all our efforts went to make Marina's present. I'm more used to draw roses than anything else. So I tried these lilies and I'm not certain if I like how they look..., but I wasn't going to take too much time on it because I also have to study a lot.

Roses for Marina

Today was a busy day. A friend of mine, here in Germany, is celebrating her birthday. I spent the last week putting together her friends to make her a video, but I also wanted to make something personal. So I drew her these roses. They are easy to do and girls normally like this kind of stuff, so here you have them. I based myself on two photos I saw of flowers, but, as usual with flowers, I did my own vision of them not caring too much about shape and size. I hope you like them. I thin they look pretty decent

Sketch of Danielle

5/31/12 12:23 PM
Instead of studying for "Industrial Heating and Cooling" I was drawing her. She is not finish yet, but I wanted to post her because I'm about to erase some of the things I had to draw to make her, and I kind of like the look she has now.

6/2/12 1:10 AM
Just thinking why not to put her again before she's finish. I fixed her right shoulder a little.

6/14/12 10:46 PM
Ok. I didn't like how the hands were looking, so I fixed one and I erased the other one. She's almost finished. I just need to draw the hand and fix some little details and she'll be done.

NOW:

As you can see it took me a lot to finish her. I guess it was because I knew all the hard work was already done and also because I was scared to mess up the drawing by making a weird-looking hand or something. I'm quite proud of this drawing because of the perspective, the hair and the clothes. The arms look pretty nice, but the shoulders and neck are unrealistic, and, as always, the head is too big for her body. This time it's not too much, but still I think the proportions are not too well-done. This represents a scene from the book I'm always talkign about and I'll never write.
